Harry Kane scores reliably, shines as a leading player – and yet remains a topic of speculation. Now a former Bayern official has spoken out about a possible contract extension for the goalscorer.
While FC Bayern’s sporting record leaves little to be desired, personnel planning continues to be a topic of conversation. The focus is particularly on Harry Kane, whose future is open beyond 2027. Michael Reschke, former technical director of the record champions, spoke in detail about this on ran.de.
„This extension will only influence Kane’s decision with nuances, even if he will see this personnel matter very positively,“ explained Reschke with regard to the contract extension of coach Vincent Kompany.
Reschke believes that Kane’s family environment will be decisive for his future: „With regard to his contract extension, his family and he himself will take centre stage. He knows which top club and which top team he currently plays for, and of course that counts.“
Reschke believes Kane will take his time with his decision: „Kane will probably define a time window in which he will decide his future. But with so many games, he won’t be overly concerned with it at the moment.“
Although the former FCB manager believes that the England international feels at home in Munich, he warns against jumping to conclusions: „He feels very comfortable in Munich at the moment. On the other hand, he comes from the country with the best league in the world. There will be some top clubs there who are interested in him. But of course there is also a lot in favour of Bayern Munich. It’s an open race.“
Reschke also commented on Manuel Neuer and emphasised his special role at FC Bayern. The 68-year-old emphasised: „He is an absolutely exceptional athlete and is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world.“ Neuer is also a „figurehead of the club“ for whom age plays a subordinate role: „As long as he is fit and wants to continue playing, you automatically have to look at extending his contract.“
Harry Kane himself had commented on possible talks about his future after the home game against Brugge. „The talks won’t take place next month, but maybe in the new year. Then we will discuss it. We are in a good position, I feel good. We are not hectic. I’m not, I don’t think the club is either,“ the attacker told BILD.
