Exciting friendly against upcoming Polish club

First match in Turkey v Rakow Czestochowa and Haaland's cousin

After the first gruelling training sessions under the Belek sun, our lads face their first real test of the training camp this Saturday, 10 January. We'll be playing against Rakow Czestochowa, a new force of Polish football, at 16:00 local time (14:00 CET) at the Mardan Stadium.

Rakow Czestochowa opposition analysis

Acquired by an investor in 2014 as a third-division team, they achieved promotion to the Polish top flight in 2018/19. In 2021/22, they won their first ever honour with the Polish cup. Just one season later, the team from southern Poland secured the Polish Ekstraklasa title.

1921 the club's foundation year

The current fourth-placed team in the Polish league have also made their mark on the European stage. They finished the UEFA Conference League's league stage in second place, taking a dominant 4-1 win against Rapid Vienna in the process.

43 million Euro market value

The Silesian club are going into the new year with a coaching change. Marek Papszun left the club in mid-December, transferring to league rival Legia Warsaw. Lukasz Tomczyk is now in the dugout.

205,000 residents in Czestochowa

Also of note: Jonatan Braut Brunes, a relative of a familiar face from Salzburg, is making waves in the Polish side's attack – he is Erling Haaland's cousin. The 25-year-old, also a striker, has scored nine goals in 17 league appearances this season.
