Foot Africa expert opinion on CHAN 2024
Exclusive: "Morocco will be the champion, and Madagascar will surprise everyone"!.
Many surprises have occurred in CHAN 2024, including the elimination of several prominent teams and the emergence of many talented individuals in this tournament so far. However, it appears that there are many more surprises to come in the semi-finals of this tournament.
To discuss these surprises further, our website, Foot Africa, was able to obtain the opinion of the Sudanese sports journalist and activist, Youssef Al-Ghazouli, who has worked with several sports websites, to ask him more about the experiences of this tournament and the semi-final round.
Question: Welcome, Captain Youssef Al-Jazouli. It's been over a week since the African Nations Championship (CHAN) began. Which team's performance has surprised you the most?
Youssef Al-Jazouli: The team that surprised me is the Sudanese national team. Despite the current circumstances in the country, especially within the sports sector, the Sudanese team managed to deliver an impeccable performance in this tournament under the leadership of their Ghanaian coach, Kwasi Appiah.
Question: Regarding the Moroccan team and their coach, Tarek Skitioui, do you expect them to go far in the tournament? What is your opinion on their technical performance so far, and which talented player has caught your eye?
Youssef Al-Jazouli: The Moroccan team has been delivering an excellent performance so far. The team has played five matches to date, winning four and losing only one. If the team can maintain this rhythm, they will go far in this tournament under the leadership of coach Tarek Skitioui, who is doing a beautiful technical job so far. Overall, Skitioui has a distinguished group of players, most notably Osama Melloui, the tournament's top scorer with four goals so far.

Question: The Malagasy national team is delivering a distinguished performance so far. Could we see them as champions of this edition, or do you see another champion?
Youssef Al-Jazouli: The Malagasy team has presented a very good level so far. Currently, they are in the semi-finals under the leadership of Coach Romuald. But in my view, the Malagasy train will stop in the semi-finals.
Question: In the current tournament, is there a specific talent that has impressed you?
Youssef Al-Jazouli: The current African Nations Championship has presented us with very distinguished talents, such as Abdelraouf Yaqoub, a player for the Sudanese national team who was brilliant in the World Cup qualifiers and continues to excel in this tournament.
