The Swans have had a flying start to the summer transfer window, with four new arrivals entering the equation for head coach Alan Sheehan, as well as January recruit Melker Widell being available after the end of his stint with Aalborg.

City won't be stopping there though when it comes to strengthening their squad, and they're now at the front of the pack to land a much sought-after transfer target who is interesting clubs in both the Championship and League One.

FLW has now been told in a fresh transfer development that Swansea are the club that are now at the front of the queue when it comes to trying to take Galbraith from League One play-off finalists Leyton Orient.

The 24-year-old was one of the stars of the O's season under Richie Wellens in 2024-25, appearing 42 times in League One and scoring six goals, with seven assists also notched.

Naturally a central midfielder after coming through the Man United academy system in that position, Galbraith's game-time for Orient last season was shared between his usual role and that of a right-back, proving to be equally competent in both positions.

Galbraith has just one year remaining left on his contract at the BetWright Stadium, and it has led to a number of suitors being interested in acquiring him for the upcoming campaign.

Charlton Athletic - the club that defeated Orient in the play-off final back in May at Wembley - were reported by Sky Sports to have had a £1.3 million offer rejected for the Northern Ireland international in mid-June, whilst a few days after that, League One outfit Huddersfield Town were eyeing up a raid of their divisional rivals and were planning on submitting a £2.5 million bid, as per Alan Nixon.

Sheffield United have also been linked with a move for Galbraith, but it's now Swansea who are the new and clear favourites to secure a transfer for Galbraith this summer - five months after having a bid rejected for him on transfer deadline day back in February.
