Leeds United Women host FC St Helens Women in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup first round proper this afternoon, returning to Garforth for the first time since mid-September.
Last time out, the Whites recorded an impressive 2-1 win away at tier-above Hull City Ladies in the FA Women’s National League Cup, with Ellie White and Alice Hughes both getting on the scoresheet to secure a place in the next round, a visit to West Bromwich Albion Women.
Simon Wood has named his Leeds Starting XI for today’s clash, making two changes from the victory at Hull in the form of Abbie Graham and Kath Smith, who replace last week’s Player of the Match Izzy Elliott, and Monique Watson.
An ever-present Carrie Simpson remains between the sticks, with Alayna Millard, Captain Shauna Legge, Alice Hughes and Darcie Greene making up the rest of the backline.
A slightly tweaked midfield has places for Smith, White and Abbie Graham, and the front three consists of Chloe Dixon, Drew Greene, and Amy Woodruff leading the line.
On the bench is Charlotte Oates, a returning Brittany Sanderson, Sian Gibrill-Keating, Macy Ellis, Ruby Waldron, and Abigail Lee.
Starting XI: Simpson (GK), Millard, Legge (C), Hughes, Darcie Greene, Smith, White, Graham, Drew Greene, Woodruff, Dixon.
Subs: Oates (GK), Sanderson, Lee, Gibrill-Keating, Ellis, Williams, Waldron.
St Helens: Cassar (GK), Wood, Barker, Muirhead (C), Hussey, Miranda, Beard, Mitchell, Burnham, Mannion, Griffiths.
Subs: Law (GK), Barlow, Lloyd, Johnston, McKenny, Marshall, Hill.
