Chris Moore's side, who currently occupy 10th place in the Under-18 Premier League North, were one of 32 sides to join the competition at the third round stage and the cup tie against their Seagulls counterparts will take place on home soil, with a date, venue and kick-off time to be confirmed on newcastleunited.com in due course.
The young Magpies have won the competition twice in their history after tasting success in 1962 before a side including Geordie midfielder Paul Gascoigne, lifted the cup in 1985.
Newcastle reached the quarter-finals of the prestigious youth tournament in 2016/17 but their impressive run was ended by Tottenham Hotspur in a 5-3 defeat at St. James’ Park while a Magpies side involving Elliot Anderson reached the last-eight stage four years later before losing out to eventual winners Aston Villa.
With a number of second round ties still to be played, third round ties are scheduled to be completed by Saturday, 14th December.
At this stage, when a match is drawn after 90 minutes, an extra 30 minutes shall be played (15 minutes in each half) and if the score remains level after extra-time, the winner shall be determined by a penalty shoot-out.
