Fabrizio Romano says £100m star "open" to Man United transfer in update on two top midfielders

The Italy international has shone in the Premier League and looks like he could be ready to move up to the next level, with Man Utd joined by Arsenal and Manchester City as admirers.

That’s according to Romano in his latest post on X, formerly Twitter, as he also provided some fresh insight into the situation of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, who is also of interest to some of the same clubs…

19th March – United have made calls to ask about Tonali‘s situation, according to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel.
24th March – Tonali wanted by both United and Man City but prefers a return to Serie A, according to talkSPORT.
29th March – United have made Tonali their top target, with the 25-year-old likely to cost £100m, according to Matteo Moretto.

Sandro Tonali not the best option out there for Man United

Our view is that Tonali would likely be too expensive to represent an ideal signing for United.

Even if the former AC Milan man has performed well for Newcastle and could give MUFC an upgrade on their current midfielders, someone like Anderson is younger, has a higher potential, and would cost a similar price.
