Diogo Linhares has left Flamengo following the dismissal of Filipe Luís, posting an emotional farewell that drew widespread tributes from players. According to Coluna Do Fla, the fitness coach posted his farewell on social media on Tuesday.

In his message he reflected on hard work, challenges, learning, joy and achievements he would carry with him. He thanked everyone who helped make the journey meaningful.

He offered special thanks to Filipe for daily trust and partnership, to the staff, and above all to the players he called the protagonists. Linhares said it was an honour to share training, matches and travel, with many victories, some defeats and unforgettable moments, and that he learned on and off the pitch.

Players responded in numbers. Arrascaeta thanked him and said he had been part of one of Flamengo’s most magical years, while Luiz Araújo and Léo Pereira also sent thanks. De La Cruz praised him warmly and Samuel Lino used a profanity while expressing gratitude, with further messages from Bruno Henrique, Evertton Araújo, Wallace Yan, Caio Joshua, Carrascal and Léo Nannetti.

Assistant Ivan Palanco has also departed. Rodrigo Caio resigned from the club’s permanent staff in solidarity with a friend, and Leonardo Jardim’s backroom team will replace the outgoing group after arriving in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday.
