Fiorentina ‘in advanced talks’ for Joao Mario loan with €eight to nine million option

Fiorentina are in advanced talks to take Juventus full-back Joao Mario on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. According to Sky Sport Italia, the package is valued at around €eight to nine million.

The full-back has struggled to make an impact since his €12 million transfer from FC Porto in the summer of 2025.

As part of that agreement, Porto are owed 10 per cent of any future profit on a sale, which would mean nothing in this scenario because his value has dropped.

The Portugal international was loaned to Bologna in January as part of a swap that saw Emil Holm go the other way. Neither club triggered a permanent deal, so he returned to Turin, and Juventus do not view him as part of their plans.

Mario made 13 appearances for Juventus, contributing one assist, then added 15 games and two goals during his spell at Bologna.
