Spurs moved to appoint Brentford favourite quickly after sacking Europa League-winning boss

Spurs confirmed the appointment of Brentford boss Frank as their latest head coach on a three-year contract on Thursday evening, having paid £10million in compensation to their London rivals.

That move came less than a week after Tottenham sacked Postecoglou just a fortnight after he delivered the club’s first major trophy in 17 years by beating Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao, that memorable triumph unable to save his job after a dismal Premier League campaign that saw them finish just one place above the relegation zone in 17th and amass only a paltry 38 points.

Moore made his breakthrough at Spurs under Postecoglou, handed his senior debut in a 3-1 home top-flight win over Frank’s Brentford last September before going on to make 19 appearances across all competitions this term, scoring his first Tottenham goal in the 3-0 victory against Swedish side Elfsborg in the Europa League in January.

And the 17-year-old is evidently grateful to the Australian for giving him the chance to succeed on the biggest stage, but also is eagerly looking forward to Frank’s reign and the opportunity to make a further impact.

"With Ange, I'm thankful to him," Moore told the Press Association ahead of the Under-19 European Championship, where he will be a key part of the England side in Romania.

"He gave me an opportunity to go and show people what I could do.

"Now I'm just excited to get back and hopefully go and impress the new manager. Try and show what I can do, really.

"I started away at Brentford, where obviously he was in charge, and I've played against his team before.

"I've heard that he's a good man and he's a good manager. One of the boys here (with the U19s) works under him and says good things about him, so I'm just excited to get going under him, really."
