Gonzalo Plata has been named in Ecuador’s 26-player squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The club said in a post on X that the forward is among those selected for the tournament.

Also called up were Alex Sandro, Danilo, Léo Pereira and Lucas Paquetá for Brazil.
Colombia named Jorge Carrascal, while Uruguay selected Arrascaeta, De La Cruz and Varela.
The World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July 2026, hosted across Mexico, Canada and the United States.
Ecuador are in Group E and open against Côte d’Ivoire on 14 June. Plata’s side then face Curaçao and Germany in the group stage.
