Flamengo tracked Athletico-PR forward Viveiros during Brazil’s internal transfer window, which closes on Friday 27, but chose not to advance talks.
According to GE, the club preferred to invest in established players and was prepared to make heavy offers to secure that profile.
The first signing of the 2026 window was centre-back Vitão, formerly of Internacional. Flamengo then brought in Andrew from Gil Vicente in Portugal.
The longest deal concerned Lucas Paquetá. After protracted negotiations, Flamengo convinced West Ham to do business and repatriated their academy product.
With the window closing, Leonardo Jardim has been using the FIFA break to intensify his work on the training ground.
Flamengo face Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday 02 in the ninth round of the Brasileirão, with kick-off at 21:30 Brasília time in Bragança Paulista.
