Florentino Pérez called early elections at Real Madrid, ruled out resigning and attacked ABC and Vocento amid a deepening club crisis.

According to El Correo, he spoke in Valdebebas after a board meeting and asked the electoral board to start the process, saying his directors will run.

Pérez alleged an organised media campaign against him and the club. He rejected rumours about terminal cancer, said his health is perfect and insisted members back him, noting unopposed elections in 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025.

He avoided sporting issues despite a second straight trophyless season, focusing on the Negreira case. He argued Barcelona are routinely favoured, urged UEFA to intervene and said a 500-page dossier is being prepared after talks with the organisation.

The chaotic briefing overran despite attempts by club communications to end it and came during intense dressing-room strain. A training clash between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde left the Uruguayan, a team captain, hospitalised with head trauma, and both were fined €500,000.

Pérez condemned the leak of that incident rather than the fight itself, calling such bust-ups routine and the leak worse. He described both players as excellent young men.

This season has been marred by internal problems, from medical errors in the cases of Kylian Mbappé and Eduardo Camavinga to the sacking of Xabi Alonso after the Supercopa defeat. Álvaro Arbeloa brought some improvement, yet further rows, including between Jude Bellingham and Mbappé and between Antonio Rüdiger and Álvaro Carreras, deepened the sense of disarray.
