Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil has found a new home in the Saudi Pro League after signing for Al-Hazem.

The Moroccan center-back left the South African champions for a return to his homeland, where he reunited with coach Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Athletic Club last season.

During his one-season stint in Casablanca, Boutouil made 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals while providing as many assists.

Moreover, the 27-year-old stalwart was part of the Red Castle team took part in the FIFA Club World and played two matches as the Moroccan giants were eliminated in the group stages.

Now, he is set for a new chapter in the oil-rich Kingdom with the newly promoted Saudi outfit and will share a dressing room with Bafana Bafana forward Elias Mokwana.

The ex-Sekhukhune United talisman joined Hazem on a season-long loan from Tunisian juggernauts Esperance de Tunis last month.

Mokwana made his debut for the club when they drew 1-1 with Damac FC in the Saudi opener before the FIFA international break.
