Former Real Madrid youth midfielder Chema Andres has expressed his desire to return to the Spanish capital one day, calling it a personal dream.
After making his debut with the Real Madrid first team last season, Chema has started the 2025/26 season on a high note with Stuttgart.
In an interview with Radioestadio Noche, he reflected on his life in the Bundesliga. “It’s not typical of me to score goals, but making my debut in Stuttgart was an incredible welcome.”
Many see Chema as a midfielder with bright potential, drawing comparisons to Manchester City’s Rodri, a player who is currently wanted by Real Madrid.
“I think the only thing we have in common is that we play with our shirts tucked in. It’s a privilege to be compared to someone of that quality.
“There are very few left who have the ability that Rodri or Zubimendi have to organise play, to have a sense of composure. Every team needs a number 6 to organise the team,” he said.
Even though he is playing in Germany, Chema keeps a close eye on Real Madrid’s season: “I watch Madrid because there are people I care deeply about, like Gonzalo.
“I think they have a great team and are doing very well. I hope they can win many titles.”

He cherishes the memories from his time at the club, especially making his debut under Carlo Ancelotti and coming on as a substitute for Luka Modric during the Croatian’s farewell.
“I want to thank Carlo for giving me that great moment, with an image that will remain in my memory and that my grandfather has treasured.”
On a personal note, Chema describes himself as someone “looking to make a name for himself in professional football in Germany.”
Despite his success abroad, he has not forgotten his roots. “Of course, Real Madrid is a dream for every player, and I hope to return one day.
“In the end, everyone knows it is the biggest club in world football, but there is more to football in other countries.
“I’m very happy in Germany, and I never imagined it would be this good.”
Notably, Chema’s comments have come at a time when Real Madrid are said to be exploring avenues to exercise their buyback option for the midfielder.
As reported before, the Los Blancos could bring him back alonside Nico Paz in the summer of 2026.
