Fortaleza appoint Paulo Autuori before Palmeiras tie in Copa do Brasil | OneFootball

Fortaleza have appointed Paulo Autuori as head coach ahead of their Copa do Brasil last-16 meeting with Palmeiras, according to Nosso Palestra.

The tie begins on Sunday 02/08 at 16h, Brasília time, at Nubank Parque, with the return on Wednesday 05/08 at 21h30 at Arena Pantanal.

Fortaleza confirmed Thiago Carpini's departure on Thursday 23. Autuori was announced late on Friday 24.

CBF named the officials on Tuesday 21. The first leg at Nubank Parque will be refereed by Rodrigo Pereira, PE/FIFA, whose record is listed as eight games, four wins, two draws and two defeats. Rafael Klein, RS/FIFA, will take charge of the return, with a record of 12 games, nine wins and three draws.

This is Palmeiras' 31st campaign. They won the cup in 1998, 2012, 2015 and 2020. They sit fourth for most titles, alongside Corinthians, behind Grêmio and Flamengo on five and Cruzeiro on six.

They were runners-up in 1996 and have reached the semi-finals four times. They have gone out nine times in the quarter-finals and nine times in the last 16. Their exits also include two in the round of 32 and one in the round of 64.

Among other São Paulo clubs, Santos, São Paulo, Santo André and Paulista de Jundiaí have one title each.
