Cottagers having mixed fortunes as Deadline Day looms
Talks between Fulham and PSV Eindhoven have broken down over a deal for Ricardo Pepi.
Fulham submitted a bid for Pepi last weekend, but it remains unclear whether the bid was accepted.
Standard Sport understands there are no talks currently taking place between the two clubs over a deal for the American forward.
Pepi has been a longstanding target for Fulham and the club were prepared to push forward with a deal despite the 23-year-old undergoing surgery on a broken arm earlier this month.
While a deal for Pepi has stalled, Fulham are close to completing a £27million deal for Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb.
Bobb was due to undergo a medical on Thursday ahead of completing a move to Craven Cottage, with City retaining a 20 per cent sell-on clause and matching rights on any future sale.
Fulham have been in the market for attacking reinforcements in January, and sanctioned the departure of Adama Traore to West Ham on Wednesday.
Bobb, meanwhile, is in search of regular first-team football ahead of this summer’s World Cup. The Norwegian international has fallen down the pecking order at City following the £62.5m arrival of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.
Fulham have yet to make any new signings in January, but Silva said last week that he and the club were aligned on what needed to be done before next Monday’s deadline.
"What I can say is that we were aligned on everything we wanted to achieve in January,” Silva said last week.
“The January transfer window is never easy. If the summer window is challenging, you can imagine how difficult January is.
"However, we remain aligned, and I truly believe the club is doing everything possible to implement the plan and structure we agreed on, which will serve us well in January."
