Gabriel Gets 8.5, Rice With 8 | Arsenal Players Rated In Last-Gasp Win Vs Newcastle United

Arsenal faced off against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Gunners made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 34th minute when Nick Woltemade found the back of the net. Mikel Arteta’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Mikel Merino managed to equalise for Arsenal in the 84th minute before Gabriel scored a dramatic late winner in injury time. The North London club ended up securing a last-gasp 2-1 win away from home.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared during the clash against the Magpies.
He made a couple of solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet.
RB: Jurrien Timber – 7.5/10
Timber performed his defensive duties well and was a real threat going forward.
CB: Cristhian Mosquera – 6/10
He earned the ball back a few times for Arsenal and was replaced at half-time.
CB: Gabriel – 8.5/10
Gabriel gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and ended up scoring a late winner for Arsenal in injury time.

LB: Riccardo Calafiori – 6/10
He cleared the danger when needed and caused some problems for the opposition defenders going forward.
CM: Declan Rice – 8/10
The English talent anchored the midfield with conviction and ran the show in the opponent’s half. He has got an assist to show for his efforts.
CM: Martin Zubimendi – 7/10
He offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and made two key chances in the final third.
RW: Bukayo Saka – 6.5/10
Saka made a few good runs with the ball, but there was no goal for him.
CAM: Eberechi Eze – 7/10
He was a constant menace in the final third, but failed to register a goal this evening.
LW: Leandro Trossard – 6.5/10
Trossard made one good chance in the opponent’s half but struggled to be a threat in the final third.
ST: Viktor Gyokeres – 7/10
He was a real handful for the Newcastle defenders, but failed to find the back of the net.

He was solid at the back.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 6.5/10
Martinelli made one promising run with the ball.
