Coffey: London City win gives us huge belief

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw pounced in the 86th minute to earn the Blues a 2-1 win at the Copperjax Community Stadium and take full advantage of Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

It looked like we might have to settle for a point after Kerolin’s early strike was cancelled out by Freya Godrey’s vicious effort midway through the second half.

But City dug deep and eventually got our reward when Shaw pounced on a loose ball in the hosts’ area to extend our winning run to 12 in the WSL.

Scored in front of the travelling City fans, there were some memorable celebrations after Bunny’s winner involving the players and supporters.

And with Chelsea up next at the Etihad Stadium, the victory gives Andrée Jeglertz’s side huge confidence ahead of another huge fixture.
