Roma is intensifying its search for a center forward ahead of the January transfer window.
In addition to the well-known names, a thin thread seems to be reconnecting with Giacomo Raspadori.
The Atlético Madrid striker has been on Trigoria’s list of prospects to strengthen the attack, a desire not new to the Giallorossi.
Interest in Raspadori dates back some time: Roma had already attempted to acquire him last January, but the most vehement interest comes from Gian Piero Gasperini, who explicitly asked the Bergamaschi to bring him to Atalanta in January 2024.
The Roma coach is convinced that Jack can fit perfectly into his system, thanks to his speed, passing ability, and one-on-one skills.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma appears to have already begun working on the deal, establishing direct contact with the player’s entourage and involving a key intermediary.
The response has been positive, confirming Raspadori’s underlying appreciation.
The striker, acquired from Atlético Madrid last summer for €22 million plus bonuses, with a contract running until 2030, had chosen Spain to play more consistently.
However, the situation hasn’t improved: so far, Raspadori has made 11 appearances in 20 matches for Atlético Madrid, starting just three and averaging very low participation—291 minutes played, or approximately 26.5 per game.
