Marco Carnesecchi, Giovanni Leoni, Giovanni Fabbian and Daniel Maldini are not part of the Italy squad facing Estonia tonight, and will watch their teammates from the stands.

Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso has dropped Carnesecchi, Leoni, Maldini and Fabbian from the Azzurri squad for tonight’s match against Estonia.

As reported by TMW, the four players won’t even go on the bench, watching their teammates from the stands.

Fabbian and Leoni have received their first senior Italy call-up alongside Inter’s forward Francesco Pio Esposito, who will be available tonight.

Atalanta’s Gianluca Scamacca already withdrew from the Italy squad because of a knee issue.

Carnesecchi, Leoni, Fabbian and Maldini remain available for the Azzurri during the international break.

Italy will face Israel away this coming Monday in their second World Cup qualification fixture during the September break.

Moise Kean and Mateo Retegui are expected to lead the Azzurri’s attack against Estonia tonight, in Gattuso’s debut as the Italy head coach.
