Lazio head coach Gennaro Gattuso and Kenneth Taylor were able to swiftly resolve their unceremonious training-ground spat.

Why Gennaro Gattuso Kicked Kenneth Taylor out of Lazio Training

During Thursday morning’s training session at Formello, the midfielder collided with his teammate Matteo Cancellieri during a mini-match between the ranks. Gattuso swiftly dismissed the Dutchman’s complaints, asking him to stand up and play, which prompted a vulgar hand gesture from the player, as Il Corriere dello Sport explains.

The Calabrian manager immediately kicked Taylor out of the training session. The 24-year-old took off his i-shirt and headed straight to the locker room without making any further objections.

Taylor Rejoined Lazio Teammates in the Afternoon

Ahead of Thursday’s afternoon session, all eyes were on Taylor, as Lazio fans and observers were keen to see whether the player would resume training with the squad. Luckily, the former Ajax star took the pitch alongside his teammates as usual. However, Gattuso didn’t let the incident completely slide, as he decided to arrange a light-hearted ‘punishment’.

How Taylor Atoned Himself

Following the rondo drill, the Lazio players formed two columns, while Taylor had to run in between his teammates, who playfully hit him on the head (as shown in the featured image above), in a ritual usually reserved for new players.

Therefore, the back-and-forth spat between Gattuso and the Netherlands international appears to be water under the bridge, with the men resuming their collaboration as per normal.
