Alexandre Domenico, president of Gaviões da Fiel, gave a statement at the 52nd Police District in Tatuapé on Monday, amid an inquiry into alleged threats linked to the first impeachment vote of former Corinthians president Augusto Melo in January 2025.
According to Meu Timao, a police report was filed on 20 January 2025 by Romeu Tuma Júnior, chair of the club’s Deliberative Council, on behalf of councillors who said they felt threatened by the supporters’ call. At the time, Gaviões urged fans to attend Parque São Jorge to follow the vote, which was postponed and concluded in May with Melo’s removal.
In a social media post, Domenico said he was surprised by the summons, described the group’s actions at Parque São Jorge as peaceful protests, and criticised what he called the club’s political modus operandi. He insisted attempts to silence the group would not work and vowed to challenge those he believes have harmed Corinthians.
The investigation initially sat with Drade, the São Paulo Civil Police unit for offences related to sporting intolerance, but has since been reassigned to the precinct closest to the club’s social headquarters, which has been hearing other figures.
Security staffer Aldair Borges is also under investigation, having been named in testimonies for allowing fans to occupy club premises in June 2025. His name resurfaced after Tuma accused president Osmar Stabile’s administration of rehiring him, a dispute that resulted in Tuma’s temporary removal as council president.
The presence of organised groups was not limited to council meetings. In July, Gaviões staged a protest outside Parque São Jorge targeting former Corinthians presidents, featuring coffins and a funeral march.
