The Egyptian has been a regular thorn in the Manchester City side in recent seasons, as part of a Liverpool team who have regularly challenged the Citizens for big trophies. Salah has 13 goals and eight assists in 25 career appearances against City and will face the Blues for the final time as a Liverpool player tomorrow.

Guardiola’s side host Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals and the Spaniard has paid tribute to a long-term rival.

“The numbers and consistency, what a player, what an incredible human being,” Guardiola said at his press conference on Friday.

“Goals, assists and an absolute legend for Liverpool Football Club and the Premier League for all he has done.

“It is a good moment to say goodbye in this country tomorrow. He deserves incredible, incredible recognition for what he has given to world football and especially in this country.”
