Newcastle United will welcome Manchester City at St. James’ Park this Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss away at Brentford recently. Hence, they would be eager to bounce back with a good result against Pep Guardiola’s men this weekend.
Eddie Howe will opt for the 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make one change to his first team for this game. Lewis Hall could play from the start of this contest because Dan Burn will miss this game due to suspension.
Nick Pope will play in between the sticks for the Tyneside club after shipping in three goals in his last outing. Malick Thiaw will operate alongside Sven Botman at the centre of the Newcastle backline as they look to maintain a good shape on the defensive end of the field.
Kieran Trippier will try to prove his worth as the right-back, while Lewis Hall looks to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Joelinton, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes will make up Howe’s midfield. Their main job would be to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park.
However, Howe will be sweating on the fitness of Joelinton, who is recovering from a calf injury.
Lewis Miley and Joe Willock will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Harvey Barnes will try to make a difference on the left flank if he can recover in time for this game. Jacob Murphy would look to catch the eye as the right-winger.
Nick Woltemade will lead the charge for the Magpies up top. He would be keen on getting his name on the scoresheet against Man City this weekend.
Anthony Elanga will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if required.
