Hamburg interested in taking Inter’s Aleksandar Stankovic on loan | OneFootball

Gianluigi Longari reports that Hamburger might be interested in taking Inter Milan’s Aleksandar Stankovic on loan. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder has already been linked with a Bundesliga switch via Stuttgart and Wolfsburg. The Serbian youth international recently completed a successful loan stint with FC Luzern in Switzerland.

Stankovic’s loan spell in the Swiss Super League may have nevertheless been too successful. The player found himself in the middle of some jockeying between his parent and loan club at the end of the season. Luzern attempted to exercise a €1.6m purchase option. Inter countered by pulling their €3.2m buyback clause.

Inter clearly wish to retain their player and might not be interested in another loan. Hamburg, on the other hand, could still successfully negotiate a loan with the Serie A club by forgoing a purchase option. Stankovic could conceivably serve as a nice complement to recently acquired midfielder Nicolas Capaldo.

The teenage talent has raised his estimated market value from €1.5m to €11m over the last 13 months. He remains under contract with Inter until 2028.
