Hansi Flick is preparing to hold important one-on-one meetings with several Barcelona players whose futures remain uncertain ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to reports in Mundo Deportivo, the German coach plans to personally speak with Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde, Ronald Araujo and Roony Bardghji regarding their situations within the squad.

As per the outlet, while Barcelona already have a core group of players considered untouchable, the futures of several others remain less secure due to sporting and financial reasons. 

In that regard, Flick wants complete clarity before next season begins and intends to explain his plans directly to each player individually.

Several folders to discuss

As such, Balde’s role has become increasingly uncertain after losing prominence at left-back. 

Joao Cancelo has adapted to the position, while Gerard Martin also provides a strong option.

Furthermore, Barcelona are even considering reinforcing the role further in the market, which could force them to sell the La Masia graduate.

Meanwhile, Bardghji’s future is also unclear after a disappointing breakthrough season. 

Flick initially viewed the Swedish winger as an important backup option for Lamine Yamal, but the youngster has gradually lost prominence.

Araujo’s situation, on the other hand, remains particularly delicate after a difficult campaign in which he lost his place in the starting XI. 

Despite ongoing speculation surrounding his future, the Uruguayan still wants to stay and fight for his position at the club.

The uncertainty surrounding these players is not only linked to sporting decisions, as Barcelona’s financial situation also remains a major factor.

If the club wants to make important signings this summer, which is going to be the case, player sales may become necessary to create salary space and generate transfer income. 

That reality places several valuable squad members in difficult situations despite still being appreciated internally.

In that context, players like Araujo, Kounde and Balde all continue attracting strong interest in the market because of their age, quality and long-term value. 

Simply put, Barcelona know that significant offers for those players could help fund reinforcements in other positions.
