Manchester United celebrated a crucial 3-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will hand the keys to the Theatre of Dreams to Ruben Amorim next week, ushering in a new era at Man United.
The Dutchman was entrusted with the interim role for a four-game stint, where he maintained an undefeated record.
Van Nistelrooy was wowed by Bruno Fernandes after his phenomenal performance against the Foxes.
He told BBC Sport after the game: “It was professional, you could see that players were fighting through the game. We scored two great goals and there were some good bits but we didn’t have real control of the game.
“In the four games Bruno scored some important goals, assisting too so he is back producing. That’s the Bruno that is helping the team the most.
“We tried to stabilise after a difficult and emotional period. We wanted to get players performing at their best, we got the right feeling to them and got them believing in themselves.”
The United attack was woeful barring Fernandes who scored the first goal through a curling shot from the edge of the box.
He received a backheel pass from Amad Diallo and brilliantly fired his strike at the left corner.
The midfielder showed his fantastic vision to feed a fine through ball to Alejandro Garnacho for the third goal.
While Fernandes gave away possession 21 times, it was a result of his constant desire to play positive passes forward.
His impact was evident, registering seven key passes in 90 minutes.
Fernandes has a huge role to play under Ruben Amorim.
He will aim to become a key player for his fellow countryman, just as he has been under all four United managers he has worked with.
