Heidenheim

Potentially living up to expectations thus far this season, Heidenheim have not had the greatest of starts.

After saving themselves via the promotion/relegation play-off last term, Frank Schmidt’s side were red-hot favourites to drop down ahead of this season - and their performances against Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig have not done anything to aid any worries.

Heidenheim have lost big players this summer, and the late departure of Leo Scienza leaves the club without any real match winners capable of creating moments out of nothing.

They face a stern test this weekend, as they welcome Borussia Dortmund to Voith Arena.

Team News

Frank Schmidt will be without forward Marvin Pieringer until October due to an ankle injury - Budu Zivzivadze is expected to lead the line in his absence.

Predicted lineup - 4-2-3-1: Ramaj - Busch, Mainka, Gimber, Pacarada - Dorsch, Schöppner - Ibrahimovic, Beck, Honsak - Zivzivadze

Borussia Dortmund

Die Schwarzgelben picked up a point against St. Pauli in their only away match this season, thus far, and will look to take advantage of a poor Heidenheim side this weekend.

Dortmund responded with a comfortable 3-0 win against Union Berlin and will aim to carry their form over after the international break.

BVB were able to secure the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka late in the transfer window, after the youngster spent the second half of last season on loan at Westfalenstadion.

Team News

Nico Schlotterbeck has resumed partial training after sustaining a serious knee injury last season.

Niklas Süle is sidelined alongside Julian Brandt, who missed Germany’s World Cup qualifiers after undergoing wrist surgery.

After arriving from Wolves, Fabio Silva will join the squad, although he is continuing to recover from a muscle problem.

Predicted lineup - 3-4-2-1: Kobel - Anselmino, Anton, Bensebaini - Couto, Nmecha, Jobe, Svensson - Sabitzer, Beier - Guirassy
