Mario Hermoso could end up staying at Roma.

The Spanish defender recently returned from his loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen and was integrated into the team’s preseason training camp with Gian Piero Gasperini at the helm.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, despite initial doubts regarding his condition and future, Hermoso has been able to impress the veteran technician.

An unexpected turn of events for the Spaniard, coming off a difficult six months and a loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen, but still tied to Roma until 2027 and endowed with the charisma that Gasperini needs.

For now, therefore, timid interest from La Liga and Turkey for the former Atlético Madrid player has been put on hold.
