Roma is ready to make a defensive transformation, but one thing is certain.
While awaiting Evan Ndicka’s return from AFCON, Mario Hermoso has become a true leader in defence.
However, the Spaniard has been struggling with groin pain for a few weeks and, together with the Giallorossi staff, is planning the steps to manage it.
The player recently flew to France accompanied by a Giallorossi doctor to undergo osteopathic treatment aimed at improving his thigh problem.
The player will continue to be carefully managed in the coming weeks to avoid losing him during the key period of the season.
The Spanish defender, who arrived last summer on a free transfer from Atlético Madrid, disappointed in his first season with the Giallorossi.
In January, he moved on loan to Bayer Leverkusen but didn’t quite return to the level he’d hoped for.
However, with the arrival of Gian Piero Gasperini, he’s become a cornerstone of the defense.
As requested by the coach, he handles the ball when it comes to his feet and knows how to attack space.
He’s a typical Gasperini defender, who doesn’t just focus on stopping opponents’ counterattacks but also becomes the protagonist of his team’s own.
Due to groin pain, Hermoso missed the match against Juventus, but he played the full 90 minutes against Genoa at the Olimpico.
