SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, MexicoTigres UANL earned a 3-1 win against FC Cincinnati in the second leg of their Round of 16 series, winning 4-2 on aggregate, as the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup continued on Tuesday at Estadio Universitario in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

The visitors found the opener in the 18’, with Evander striking from the center of the box following an assist from Luca Orellano.

Tigres responded with the equalizer in the 64’ off a header from Ozziel Herrera inside the penalty area, tying 2-2 on aggregate with the U.S. side, momentarily holding the advantage on away goals. Juan Brunetta registered the assist with a pinpoint cross.

The home side took the lead outright in the 69’ with a right-footed finish to the bottom left corner from Brunetta, combining with Herrera.

Nicolás Ibáñez secured the Tigres win with a third goal in the 73’, sending the ball to the back of the net with a header inside the box. Fernando Gorriarán provided the cross from the right wing.

With the victory, Tigres UANL advances to the quarterfinals and awaits the winner of the LA Galaxy-CS Herediano series.
