Josh Windass has given his verdict on Sheffield Wednesday's brutal campaign
Josh Windass made the move from Sheffield Wednesday to Wrexham last summer.
The forward had his contract with the Owls terminated via mutual consent, which opened the door for his move to the Red Dragons.
Financial mismanagement has plagued the Yorkshire outfit over the last 12 months, with players and staff receiving late payment of wages on multiple occasions in Dejphon Chansiri’s final months as owner.
The club went into administration in October and are seeking a new owner as swiftly as possible in order to get back on track.
Henrik Pedersen’s side have struggled for results as a consequence of these off-field issues, with the team winning just one of their 39 fixtures in the Championship this season.
Meanwhile, Windass has been a key figure in Phil Parkinson’s team, scoring 10 times from 34 appearances, with Wrexham in contention for a play-off place.

Windass has offered his sympathy to the Sheffield Wednesday supporters for the difficult campaign they’ve endured this year, with relegation to League One already confirmed.
The 32-year-old believes that the squad just hasn’t been able to cope with Championship football, praising the capability of his former coach Pedersen despite the team’s poor results.
“It’s an incredible story, to lose that many games in a season is kind of unheard of,” said Windass, via Talksport.
“Obviously they’ve got players that are really not at this level because of the situation that they’ve been in.
“I know the manager really well, obviously he was Danny Rohl’s assistant last year, he was a very talented coach.
“It’s backs against the wall really, and it’s disappointing to see what’s happened to them.
“They seem to be losing games every single week, which must be difficult for the supporters.
“Hopefully next season — I don’t know if the 15 point deduction thing, I’ve read something about that but I don’t know if that’s true — hopefully they can come into League One next year and really have a go of it.”
Windass made the move to Wrexham in the summer, signing a three year deal to keep him with the Welsh outfit until June 2028.
The attacking-midfielder has contributed 10 goals and five assists from 34 appearances, 22 of which have come as a starter.
The Red Dragons are currently seventh in the Championship table with just seven games remaining, level on points with sixth place Southampton.
Parkinson is hoping to guide the club to a remarkable fourth consecutive promotion, with the team back in action on 3 April with a trip to face West Brom in a 3pm kick-off.
Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday are still searching for a first win since September after going into the international break with a 3-1 loss to Hull City.
The Owls earned a victory away to Portsmouth in the opening weeks of the campaign, but it remains their only win from 39 games in the league.
Pedersen’s side are on minus six points after being docked 18 by the EFL due to multiple rule breaches.
Next up for Sheffield Wednesday is a trip to face Stoke City on 3 April in a 3pm kick-off.

Windass was a crucial part of Rohl’s side at Sheffield Wednesday last season, and the departure of both has been a big blow to the squad.
But the 32-year-old wasn’t the only departure from the team, with a number of important players exiting amid the financial issues plaguing the club.
It could take some time for the next owners to rebuild the Owls back to that kind of position again.
It has been a brutal year for supporters, and they will all now just be looking forward to the day when it finally comes to an end.
