Boro were eliminated by Southampton in the semi-finals, having been defeated over two legs, but after the Saints were found guilty of three spying incidents, including one against the Teessiders, they were expelled from the competition in place of Kim Hellberg's side.

With the final scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium this Saturday, time is of the essence for supporters to secure their tickets for one of the greatest shows in football.

But, just how many tickets have Middlesbrough been given ahead of their trip to the home of football this weekend?

Middlesbrough's play-off final allocation revealed

Boro are set to play their first play-off final since 2015 when they were beaten 2-0 by Norwich City at Wembley Stadium.

Their upcoming clash with the Tigers will almost certainly be a sell-out as two of the Championship's biggest clubs face off in one of the most lucrative games in football.

Middlesbrough has been allocated a total of 35,984 tickets for the West Stand of the stadium, according to a club statement.

The club states that to ensure a speedy ticket-buying process, supporters are advised to ensure they read all information carefully before purchasing.

Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with category five tickets the cheapest, with adult prices at £38.50, while 16 and under and over-65s can get theirs for £20.

All tickets include a £1.50 service charge.

Each category goes up in price up to category one, the most expensive on offer, with adult tickets costing £106.50, while younger and older fans can get theirs for £54.

What are Middlesbrough and Hull City's play-off final records?

Boro and the Tigers have contrasting records in play-off finals, and fans of the North Yorkshire outfit may want to look away at their woeful history.

The Teesside club have played in four play-off finals, with only one of those held at the new Wembley, losing all four to Chelsea, Notts County, Charlton Athletic and Norwich.

Hull, on the other hand, has won both of their play-off finals, having defeated Bristol City in 2008 and Sheffield Wednesday in 2018 to reach the Premier League.

In terms of the head-to-head between the sides, Middlesbrough have gotten the better of the Tigers of late, winning five of their last eight meetings.

This season, Boro hammered Hull 4-1 on away turf while they were narrowly beaten 1-0 at home, with both clashes happening in December.

However, as we all know, form and history can go out of the window in the play-off final and, given what has happened over the last few weeks, anything could transpire.
