Vicente made his Blues debut in last Saturday's 2-0 victory over Oxford United, notching an assist after being introduced as a substitute on the hour mark.

As well as signing the 26-year-old, Chris Davies' men also completed the additions of Jonathan Panzo, August Priske, Ibrahim Osmen, Jhon Solis, and Kai Wagner.

Birmingham currently sit 13th in the Championship, five points adrift of the play-off places, and have their eyes firmly set on claiming a top-six spot.

Vicente will hope to earn his first start for Birmingham when they take on Leicester City this Saturday, having produced an assist against Oxford as a substitute last time out.

However, he faces tough competition from fellow right-winger Patrick Roberts, whose loan move from Sunderland was made a permanent deal in the transfer window.

Roberts has shown his class for Blues this season, scoring three goals and notching four assists in 25 Championship appearances.

Meanwhile, Capology have estimated that Vicente has become Birmingham's top earner, taking home a weekly wage of £50,000 and a yearly salary of £2,600,000.

The 26-year-old's St Andrew's arrival leaves former Celtic ace Kyogo Furuhashi as Blues' estimated second-highest earner on

£35,000 per week, which takes his yearly pay to £1,820,000.

Furuhashi was previously prolific in the Scottish Premiership, but he has yet to hit form in the West Midlands since joining from French club Rennes last summer, scoring one goal in 26 Championship appearances.

Davies proved his managerial credentials by steering Birmingham to the League One title with an exceptionally comfortable margin last season.

However, Blues' ambitious owners want more from the 40-year-old, who has been given the squad he needs to guide his club to the Championship play-offs.

The St Andrew's club are well-served by dangerous strikers such as Jay Stansfield and Marvin Ducksch, while strong defenders like Christoph Klarer are equally important assets.

Fresh recruit Vicente has already proven that he can cause problems in the Championship by making a goal contribution against Oxford, and there should be more to come from the former Deportivo Alaves man.

The 26-year-old was a genuine threat in the Spanish top flight last season, notching 10 goals and three assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for Eduardo Coudet's side.

Those exploits suggest that Vicente can help Blues in their quest to finish in the top six come the end of the Championship campaign.

Vicente's full Birmingham debut could come against Leicester this weekend, while he will be keen to make a strong account of himself in upcoming clashes with West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United in the second tier and the FA Cup, respectively.

Davies' side need to win against the currently managerless Leicester, and relegation candidates West Brom to prove that they are capable of making a serious play-off bid, whereas earning a victory over Premier League outfit Leeds in the cup, and progressing to the fifth round, may be deemed as a bonus.
