With the summer window looming, Sunderland’s squad value offers a clear benchmark after a transformative year under Regis Le Bris.
According to Transfermarkt, Sunderland rank 16th on €381.95m, ahead only of West Ham United, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley. Manchester City lead on €1.31bn, with Arsenal on €1.23bn, Chelsea on €1.16bn and Liverpool on €1.02bn.
Le Bris’ 2025 rebuild brought in Granit Xhaka, Robin Roefs, Brian Brobbey and Nordi Mukiele, with Nilson Angulo, Melker Ellborg and Jocelin Ta Bi added in January. That recruitment has undoubtedly driven an excellent 2025/26, with Sunderland clear of danger and on the fringes of the European race.
Despite the spend, the club’s value sits below mid-table because many of their key performers are defenders. Roefs, Mukiele and Dan Ballard have been among the most reliable, while Xhaka, influential at 33, is naturally depreciating.
Record buy Habib Diarra is listed at €32m and Noah Sadiki at €30m. Five others come in at €25m, Brobbey, Enzo Le Fee, Roefs, Chemsdine Talbi and Chris Rigg.
