Arsenal begin the defence of their Women's Champions League crown tonight against Lyon.

The Gunners face a familiar foe in the French giants, having defeated them 5-3 on aggregate over two thrilling semi-final legs en route to lifting European football’s biggest prize.

Barcelona were then felled in the final, and less than five months later, a new title tilt begins at Meadow Park.

"We start from scratch," head coach Renee Slegers said on Monday. "We're very proud of what we did last year, a lot went into that, but we all start over again.

"Everyone is constantly developing, teams change and we're playing an extremely strong opponent tomorrow. We're extremely humble but we look forward to this occasion."
