Arsenal could play future home games at Wembley | OneFootball

Arsenal could use Wembley Stadium as a temporary home as the club looks to expand the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are currently playing in the 60,704 capacity Emirates Stadium but are looking to expand to 70,000 that would take them ahead of any other London team with Tottenham Hotspur (62,5000) and West Ham United (both 62,8500) currently leading the way in the capital city.

Meanwhile Manchester United's Old Trafford remains (74,879) remains the biggest in the Premier League.

According to Telegraph Sport, Arsenal have studied how Real Madrid revamped Santiago Bernabéu Stadium with the Gunners restricted in how much they can expand due to local tube lines.

Should the redevelopment take place, then Arsenal will seek to use Wembley Stadium as its temporary home, something rivals Spurs did during the building of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Arsenal have previously played Champions League home games at the old Wembley during the 1998/99 and 1999/00 seasons.
