He has had a stop-start time at Tottenham, but players in that position can often be perfect opportunities for ambitious clubs willing to move decisively.

There is every reason to be excited by what he could bring. Solomon is quick, direct and capable of unsettling defenders in one-v-one situations. Hull have needed more cutting edge and unpredictability in wide areas, and this sort of signing would instantly raise the level of the attack. Even the fact Hull are being mentioned alongside a Premier League club like West Ham tells you the market may be opening up in a more adventurous way.

The financial side is obviously crucial. If Tottenham want £20m, that sounds difficult, but the mention of opening bids from £10m to £20m suggests there may be room for creativity. A structured deal, incentives, or even favourable payment terms could bring it into range. Supporters will hope the club are exploring every angle.

Most of all, this is the kind of rumour fans want late in the window. It is bold, it is exciting and it hints at a Hull City side trying to add players who can genuinely change games. If there is a chance to get Solomon through the door, the club should push hard.
