Jesse Lingard has made an encouraging start at Corinthians and could be involved for the visit to Fluminense at the Maracanã on Wednesday after being registered with the CBF.

According to Globo.com, the English forward has spent 29 days working at CT Joaquim Grava and has impressed the coaching staff.

Inside the camp he is described as attentive to instructions and has been heavily involved in work to sharpen the attack, a priority during a run of seven matches without a win.

Despite close to a decade at Manchester United and playing at the 2018 World Cup, he is viewed as humble and keen to help team-mates, especially younger ones. His manner is considered more discreet than Memphis Depay's.

Technically, he is seen as capable of aiding midfield build-up and creating space out wide, giving the side extra options. He is, however, short of full fitness after an improvised pre-season over the last three weeks.

With Gui Negão and Memphis Depay injured, there is a strong possibility he could be used. Coach Dorival Júnior will decide in the coming days, and a starting berth has not been ruled out.
