The Blues put in another woeful performance as they were beaten 3-0 by Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday evening.

It’s now four defeats in a row in all competitions for Liam Rosenior’s men, who remain sixth in the league with just seven games remaining.

Chelsea reportedly haven’t changed their targets for this season, and Rosenior is under increased pressure following the Everton defeat.

It’s understood the Blues aren’t currently considering a change in the dugout, despite supporters wanting Rosenior replaced during the international break.

Despite vast expense the squad is still incomplete and lacks quality, with Chelsea’s recruitment policy once again coming under fire.

The Blues opt to sign young players, sell them and bring more in, and so far it’s fair to say it really isn’t working, something Rooney was keen to point out.

“I just think if you want to be successful, you want to win trophies, every successful team has got good, experienced players in the squad,” he told BBC Match of the Day.

“And if you want to go down this model of buying young players, selling them, bringing more young players in and trying to develop them, then I think it’s going to be very, very difficult.”

Chelsea not considering change of manager

The problems are far greater than Rosenior, but ultimately he’s still a problem, and it appears evident the job is simply too big for him.

Rosenior has been heavily scrutinised since his arrival, but tactically he’s getting things wrong, and it looks like the players don’t believe in his ideas.

The international break comes at a good time for him, but he’s got a lot of work to do if the Blues are going to salvage a top five finish.
