Nicolas Jackson’s first quotes since moving to Bayern Munich on Deadline Day have come out, and he’s full of respect for his former coach Enzo Maresca.

“Sometimes things don’t go as planned, that’s part of the game. I respect Enzo Maresca, I learned a lot from him. He has his ideas and his own style. I just needed something different at this stage of my career. I have no regrets, just gratitude,” the forward said in quotes picked up by TuttoSport.
“I was a little sad to leave Chelsea, my teammates and the fans. I experienced many strong emotions there. We won the Conference League and the World Club. I thank all the people I met at there.”
Chelsea fans generally liked Jackson, although there were serious doubts about whether he would go to the next level and bring the weaker parts of his game in line with the stronger parts.
If he can, there’s a world class player in there. But after two years at Stamford Bridge, he continued to frustrate. It’s understandable why the club thought this opportunity to cash in was too great to miss.
He’s speaking in very concrete terms about a transfer in the quotes above – let’s not forget that it’s not a permanent move yet, just a loan. It can be made permanent if Jackson hits certain targets, believed to be a number of appearances. But nobody knows for sure yet.
Perhaps his conviction that he’s now a Bayern Munich player is a clue that the numbers needed to trigger that permanent move are very achievable?
We’re sure that it won’t be long before we find out more of the details, but until then it’s all speculation.
