Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch says his Liverpool side did not deserve to be booed after the final whistle of their 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

“To be honest, we need them behind us,” Gravenberch responded when asked about the reaction from fans by TNT Sports.

“I think what they do, okay we don’t win, but I think we don’t really deserve this. I think the fans have to be behind us for 90 minutes.

“I think in the second half when they got behind us, we pressed them really (well), so we need it.

“Hopefully in the next few games they won’t do this anymore.”

The Dutchman admits it has been a disappointing season for Liverpool but has backed his team-mates to finish strongly.

“I think it was not a great season from us,” he said. “We still have two games left so we have to try and win these games and secure a Champions League spot.”
