Why did Michael Olise delete all the posts from his Instagram profile? This question is currently on many fans’ minds. An emotional story about it is spreading on social media—but a closer look reveals that there is no solid evidence to support the narrative so far.
Michael Olise is one of the most extraordinary personalities in international soccer, not only on the field but also off it.
The FC Bayern attacking star runs his Instagram account in a style all his own. Around 8.5 million people follow him. He himself follows only 23 profiles.
His profile currently features exactly six posts—all without captions. The photos appear deliberately unusual: faded colors, horizontal lines across the images, and a look as if the shots were taken with an old cell phone directly from a CRT television.
His profile description also offers hardly any clues. It contains only an infinity symbol, a ninja emoji, and an email address.
In recent days, a story has been making the rounds online that is said to explain this unusual Instagram strategy. According to the story, Olise deleted all his previous posts to support his personal photographer. The story claims she was denied entry into the U.S. for the World Cup. Out of solidarity, the Bayern Munich pro is therefore now only posting photos she took of the TV screen.
The story spread rapidly and was shared on numerous platforms. Upon closer inspection, however, there is no reliable evidence to support this account. On the contrary: a key part of the story has since been publicly debunked. One of the posts, which was supposedly from Florence Pernet, was verifiably not taken by her.
French photographer Flo Pernet clarified this himself in the comments: “It’s not me, it’s @lukaskorschan!!”
The photo in question was therefore taken by German photographer Lukas Korschan. This completely undermines the main argument of the story currently circulating.

Why Michael Olise actually deleted his earlier Instagram posts remains unclear.
The Bayern star himself has not yet commented publicly on the circumstances. Nor is there any confirmed information from those close to him.
The only thing that is certain, therefore, is that the explanation currently going viral is unsubstantiated and that a key piece of evidence has already been refuted.
Until Olise speaks out himself, the true reason for this unusual Instagram move remains unknown. Anything else is pure speculation at this point.
