Earlier this year, PSG sold Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig, and the Dutch midfielder has been drawing interest this summer from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Leipzig paid €80 million for Simons, with €55 million paid upfront. The 22-year-old signed a contract through June 2027, and PSG included a sell-on clause in the deal.

CaughtOffside reported Saturday, citing sources, that Simons is available this summer for around €60 million and is open to moving to the Premier League.

Early talks have already started about a possible move to London, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur all being considered as potential destinations for the Netherlands international.

Tuttomercatoweb’s Marco Conterio reported on Monday that Inter Milan are looking for a big signing in attack, and Ademola Lookman of Atalanta is not the only target: there has been direct contact, and talks are still ongoing between sporting director Piero Ausilio and the super agent Ali Barat.

Simons’ contract expires in two seasons, and RB Leipzig would prefer not to keep him until one year before expiration, so a sale is possible now to avoid losing a valuable asset.

On Monday, Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg shared that Chelsea will hold more talks with Simons’ representatives tonight. The club is very interested and eager to secure a verbal agreement.

RB Leipzig is open to selling Simons but wants a total package of at least €70 million. Chelsea, meanwhile, hopes to negotiate a lower fee. If the deal with Chelsea falls through, other clubs are ready to make their move.
