Davide Frattesi and his future at Inter Milan remains uncertain as the January transfer window edges closer, with the club increasingly open to evaluating his position within Cristian Chivu’s project.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the midfielder is not considered untouchable and could be sold if a proposal deemed appropriate arrives on the table.

Chivu continues to appreciate Frattesi’s qualities and professionalism, but his role has become less central than initially expected.

As a result, Inter would not view a departure as a destabilising blow.

Particularly if it allows the club to reinvest elsewhere in the squad.

The Gazzetta underlines that “naturally, any potential sale, which Inter have not actively planned for at this stage, would be followed by an arrival.”

Indeed, adding that the replacement would “not necessarily be in midfield.”

Juventus and Napoli are both monitoring the situation closely, attracted by Frattesi’s profile, Italian status, and proven ability to impact matches with late runs into the box.

Inter’s stance, however, remains firm on valuation.

The club has never dropped below the €35 million mark in previous discussions.

Therefore, they would only sanction a deal on those terms.

A Frattesi exit could therefore become a strategic opportunity rather than a simple squad reshuffle.

Inter are already assessing defensive and attacking reinforcements.

Therefore, funds generated from a midfield sale could be redirected toward positions considered more urgent by the technical staff.

For now, everything remains open.

Frattesi is still part of Chivu’s plans for now.

However, January could yet bring a decisive turning point for both player and club.
