Inter Milan have no intention of letting Manuel Akanji leave, with the club already planning to secure the defender’s future as Piero Ausilio earns praise for the deal.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Akanji is now considered a pillar of the Nerazzurri project by both Cristian Chivu and the club hierarchy.
Signed in the final hours of the transfer window, the Swiss defender has immediately established himself as a regular starter and has not looked back.
Akanji has shown his value across the back line. Whether used as a wide centre-back or in the middle, his role has remained central to Inter’s defensive stability.

His latest performance against Parma further confirmed what is being viewed internally as an outstanding market operation.
Indeed, made possible by the departure of Benjamin Pavard.
“Chivu and the club consider him a full pillar on which to build the future,” the report explains. “Around Akanji, the defence of next season will also be constructed.”
Several players are expected to depart, but the on-loan Manchester City defender is not among them.
Inter have already informed Akanji’s entourage of their intention to complete a permanent move at the end of the season.
Indeed, regardless of the clause agreed upon when he arrived on loan.
Ausilio’s late-window move is now being seen as one of the defining decisions of the campaign.
