Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu prepares for a challenging Serie A outing at Marassi, where his side will face Daniele De Rossi’s unbeaten Genoa.
The match promises intensity, with Genoa having collected eight points in four games under their new manager.
According to the Corriere della Sera, “Inter, without draws, an all-or-nothing team, cannot fail at Genoa. The Marassi is a passionate stadium and De Rossi has yet to lose, taking eight points in four matches. However, Chivu, who in the title race pays tribute to the experience of Conte and Allegri, usually doesn’t mess up these kinds of games. He slows down considerably in direct clashes.”

The newspaper adds that the recent loss against Liverpool, deemed undeserved, could serve as motivation.
“The defeat should double the energy to relaunch the challenge. Because after this, with the Supercoppa and league matches, the level rises. And without Dumfries, Calhanoglu, and Acerbi, everything becomes more difficult. Inter has already lost four times in Serie A: the margin for those aiming for the Scudetto is very tight.”
Chivu will therefore need his side to perform at their peak.
Indeed, balancing the need for intensity with tactical discipline, especially given the absence of key players.
The clash with Genoa promises to be a test of resilience for the Nerazzurri, highlighting both Chivu’s growing tactical acumen and De Rossi’s strong early impact in Serie A.
