Former Leeds United loanee Djed Spence has emerged as a potential Inter Milan target after a £25.6m move for Anan Khalaili collapsed, while Everton are also keen on the Tottenham Hotspur full-back.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 2025/26 Serie A champions have interest in the 25-year-old as they prioritise a wing-back, after a €30m deal for Union Saint-Gilloise’s Anan Khalaili collapsed due to a failed medical. Meanwhile, The Athletic reported last week that Everton are interested as they seek a successor to Seamus Coleman, who has departed at the end of his contract.
Spence’s 2023 loan at Elland Road, one of the few 49ers Enterprises moves that misfired, was cut short in January after seven appearances, with a break clause triggered. A subsequent six-month stint at Bologna offered little improvement.
Back at Spurs, his career has surged. Over the past two seasons he has played 55 Premier League matches, starting 42, and earned a call-up to England for this summer’s World Cup.
Across the Atlantic he has been a useful squad option, frequently introduced late on in big wins, including against Mexico and Norway.
Daniel Farke later said Leeds ended the loan for club reasons, declined to criticise Spence, and stressed the defender’s potential and good character. He highlighted a standout display against Ipswich and wished him well, with injuries having hampered his impact at Leeds.
