Ivan Perisic wore the Inter jersey for seven years with great success.

Indeed, the 36-year-old joined the club from Wolfsburg in 2015 and stayed here until 2022 before moving to Tottenham Hotspur.

During his seven-year stint at San Siro, Perisic won three major trophies, including the 2020/21 Scudetto under Antonio Conte.

In addition to his past ties with the Nerazzurri, Perisic is also a close friend of new Milan star Luka Modric.

The two have formed the backbone of Croatia’s notable rise in the past decade.

And they’ve developed a strong bond in the process.

However, Perisic cannot help but support Inter in Sunday’s blockbuster clash at San Siro.

Inter can go five points clear of their arch-rivals with a win on Sunday.

However, that could prove easier said than done, with Milan heading into this fixture on a ten-game unbeaten league run.

Therefore, Cristian Chivu expects his side to bring their A-game to the table as he prepares for his touchline debut in the Milan derby.

“I always support Inter, even though my captain Modrić plays for Milan. Perisic said. “We’ll see on Sunday.”

He then commented on Croatia’s turbulent form these past couple of years.

“Croatia are always there. We’ve changed a couple of players, but we showed character as always, fighting and winning,” he added.

Finally, he delivered his verdict on Italy’s notorious struggle to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

“I don’t know. We have shown in recent years that we are a real team, and only in that way can you achieve good results.”
